Congrats Boys Golf
I'm thrilled to share some fantastic news from our Varsity Boys golf team's recent performances!
On Wednesday, September 25th, our team finished an impressive 3rd out of 14 teams. Junior Jackson Springer led the Timberwolves with a solid score of 77 (school record at Stone Tree) in challenging windy conditions, finishing 10th individually. Team members Rafa Escobar, Griffin Jacobs, and Jacob Martin all carded an 81, while Jack Morris showed great determination with a score of 88.
This past weekend, some of our Timberwolves competed in the 2nd Annual Hill Country Amateur at Crystal Falls, which was not a school-sanctioned event but provided a fantastic opportunity for our team to compete both individually and as a cohesive unit. I'm proud to report that the Timberwolves won the event by an impressive 30 strokes! Congratulations to our winning team members: Jackson Springer, Rafa Escobar, Jack Morris, and Griffin Jacobs. Jackson Springer once again led the way, finishing 2nd overall with back-to-back sub-80 rounds: a 75 to open the tournament on Saturday, followed by an improved score of 74 (school record at Crystal Falls) on Sunday. Jack Morris recorded a top 10 finish with scores of 77 and 82.
Most recently, the Timberwolves competed yesterday in Salado for a long day of golf with 27 holes. Jack Morris set a school record at Mill Creek with an one under-par 70, which was tied for the lead after the first 18 holes. He ended up finishing in 3rd place individually for the tournament. Jackson Springer continued his solid play with an opening round of 75. The Timberwolves ended up with another 3rd place finish. Congratulations to our winning team members: Jack Morris, Jackson Springer, Griffin Jacobs, Jakob Martin, and Andrew Campa.
Through 3 tournaments, the Timberwolves have an impressive 25-4 record. I'm incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication our team has demonstrated, and I'm excited to see what they will accomplish in the rest of the season.
